TBL have succesfully been accredited with registration under the IEMA Acorn Scheme for Phases1, 2 and 3 of the British Standard BS8555:2003 Environmental Management Systems (Certificate No: Acorn-NQA-0338 Approved 12 February 2010).
Environmental issues are taken very seriously here at TBL, and albeit a little late starting in 2000 by joining the Sustainable Business Network and buying our first LPG minibus, we met all criteria for 5 stars of 'Motorvate' by 2001. An Environmental Action Plan and Management System to ISO14001 was drawn up in 2002, with continual improvement made over the following years.
In mid-2009 we saw the need to formalise accreditation to a common standard and succesfully met BS8555:2003 Phase3 in little over 6 months.
Today, material selection and recycling is key, we grow salads and herbs on the roof-top-garden (the rumours of cannabis is completely unfounded), and run a fleet of bicycles where some 20% of staff use them most days.
The future hopefully brings Phases 4, 5 and 6 along with full ISO14001 Accreditation.
